Introduction
Liveops is a company that offers remote call center job opportunities, allowing individuals to work from home as independent agents. Agents provide customer service or sales support for various clients, with flexible schedules and pay based on the time spent on calls. While it offers flexibility and convenience, agents may face unpaid training and periods of downtime between calls.
What is Liveops?
Liveops is a company that specializes in providing contact center services to its clients. This means you must take calls for your earnings. And yes, it is legitimate because you can earn money from the job opportunities it offers.
How to Work as a call center agent
To earn through Liveops, you can apply for virtual call center jobs available on their platform. Note that these tasks do not come from Liveops but from their clients.
These jobs will be about providing contact center services, so you have to make calls to earn. This means you must have the right tools to do the job that is asked of you. This means you should have a quiet place to work and a fast and reliable internet connection
When you apply and get hired, you’ll be given access to the company’s work schedule. All you have to do is choose a schedule you want to work on. Then, show up on time to work.
What you need to remember is that you will be paid by the minute for calling. This means that you earn nothing for the time you spend waiting for a call to be taken, which is a bit inconvenient in my opinion.
Because you don’t always receive calls. Eventually there will be some downtime, so your earnings will be somewhat limited. Of the types of jobs you can do, most of them will be customer support or sales-based jobs.
The good thing, though, is that if you get hired, you’ll go through training for the job you applied for, so you can learn the skills you need to do it. The only problem is that you don’t necessarily get paid to go through the training like you would if you were an employee of a company, which is a bit unfair in my opinion.
But there is nothing you can do if the hiring employer has a policy. If you want that job, you should be willing to spend the time to learn what you need to do to do the job, even if it’s likely that it won’t pay.
How do you get paid?
Liveops’ responsibility stops at providing you with an opportunity to earn. So, if you get hired, everything including your salary will be handled by the company that hired you.
During the application process, the company will let you know how you will pay. Most of the time, this will be done by direct bank transfer or PayPal, and it will be sent to you every payday. Everything will be explained during the onboarding process, so be sure to note that.
Based on my experience, such sites usually offer a convenient payment method and you don’t have to hit any threshold to cash out. So, you shouldn’t expect Liveops to be any different. So I’d say its payment system should be relatively straightforward.
How to join Liveops?
The jobs offered by Liveops are only applicable to people living in the United States, so if you live elsewhere, this is not for you.
To apply for a job you must first complete the application process. Then, as with any job search process, if the employer is interested in hiring you, you must go through an interview.
If they want to hire you, you will be asked to pay for a background check prior to hiring. Once you clear the background check, you will go through the onboarding process. Then, the company that hires you will train you to do the job properly.
A training session can last anywhere from two hours to two weeks, depending on the type of job you will be doing. As previously mentioned, some companies may not compensate for the training period, which can be seen as a drawback.
But if you want the job, you must take it and train anyway. After you complete the training, you can start working. As explained earlier, you can choose the shift you want to work. Most of the time, this will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so you must choose quick shifts to work your preferred schedule.
